Engineering 101
Engineering has been defined in many ways throughout history. The most general definition that I could think of for the term 'engineering' is the acquisition and application of scientific knowledge to the design, analysis, and construction of objects and/or processes used to address practical problems such as those associated with humanity and its technologies. Although we most often associate engineering with humans and human-related issues, the term can be applied in descriptions of other aspects of the living and nonliving environment.
